SAGA

Who we are:

The Edgewood High School Sexuality and Gender Alliance welcomes all sexualities and all genders to our promotion of support, education, advocacy, mental well-being, and fun! This coming year 2020-21 the EHS SAGA will focus its efforts mainly on the education of issues plaguing the LGBTQ+ community and allied groups; the achievements of notable people who identify as LGBTQ+; and the inherent individuality of each and every person regardless of stigmas or stereotypes. And, of course, having fun!

One of our biggest values as a club is the importance of Identity Beyond Sexuality. It is for that reason that we never ask for one's sexuality; we understand each of our notable LGBTQ+ people thoroughly with little emphasis on their gender nor sexuality; and we promote that one's self be seen first beyond one's appearance, identification, and history. We aim to provide a safe space for all people with the guarantee of one's own voice being heard with the nuances of their own self appreciated. Throughout the year, we have pizza, host speakers, make projects, watch movies, take trips, spread awareness, host assemblies, and so much more including the dedication of each month to a theme and notable LGBTQ+ figure from history! Furthermore, each meeting maintains the space for members to talk about issues that affect them if one wishes.

Although our advisor is Mr Tucker in room D108, we often meet on our pavilion outside or in Mx Howard's room C214. The easiest way to know where we are meeting is to locate us standing at dismissal near the bus exit. You can also keep updated by adding yourself to our Remind (text @ehs-lgbtq to 81010) or following us on Instagram (@saga_edgewood). Finally, if you would like to be the first to know of our plans for the coming year or if you wish to catch up on a meeting that you may have missed, check out our notebook here: https://tinyurl.com/SAGA-2020-plans
